Leaving everything behind for Nocode, a solution for successful professional retraining

After a first part of her career in tourism as a travel designer, then in the marketing of seasonal accommodation, Coraline joined the fourth promotion of the Alegria.academy. For her, Nocode is THE solution for a successful career change.

Background

Coraline, a 28-year-old Breton woman with a BTS (2-year vocational diploma) in Management Assistant, continued her studies in tourism, then worked in this field for 6 years. First in travel design, then in seasonal rental management, this ambitious woman has always been attracted to the IT world. After 6 long years, she finally entered the field she always wanted to be part of: technology.

Why did you turn to Nocode and Alegria.academy?

Quote from Coraline Guillevic

The world of tech hasn't always been easy for women to enter, and for Coraline, this was a major obstacle to reaching her chosen field. Indeed, 10 years ago, to enter an IT course, it was strongly recommended to have a scientific profile, and the milieu was predominantly male. As this was not the case for her, she opted for a less risky path: tourism. Despite her well-defined destiny in this field, she never gave up on the idea of going into IT one day.

In 2020, during the Covid period, Coraline had more free time and took advantage of it to learn more about the profession of web developer, taking online HTML and CSS courses. Although she enjoyed her apprenticeship, she remains concerned about the idea of having to leave everything behind to go back to school for a period of 3 to 5 years.

From January to March 2022, she took a Digital Marketing and SEO training course alongside her permanent contract. For her, it was a gateway to work in the digital world. During the course of the year, she quit her job to further her professional project.

While researching on the internet to create websites easily, she discovers the Nocode Ops initiation of Bypass. She is amazed by the possibilities ofAirtable, Zapier and Notion. She then signed up for an online course on Glide with the Nocoders.

It was love at first sight, and the young woman is certain that Nocode will enable her to make a success of her professional reconversion. Alegria.academy offers a 15-month training course. She saw the ideal opportunity to enhance her skills and learn a new trade in less than a year and a half - the perfect formula! She applied very quickly, passed the personality test and then the interview before being accepted and starting the course in December 2022.

Do you regret leaving everything behind to start Nocode?

"No, I don't regret it at all. I'd say that as in any field, it's an investment, and before making a decision you always have to weigh up the pros and cons!" She then adds that you need to "prepare a baggage to be at peace and fully fulfilled in your missions."

Your proudest achievement?

What she's most proud of is the fact that she's been able to upgrade her skills in a very short space of time.

One of his most remarkable achievements has been the transformation of the Alegria.group website. Prior to her arrival in March, the site was a simple web page, a "one pager". However, thanks to Coraline's determination and expertise, everything changed in record time.

In just 10 days, Coraline managed to transform this modest site into a robust 10-page platform. And that's not all - she'd only been working with Alegria for 4 months!

This major transition was a real technical feat, but also a demonstration of its incredible ability to assimilate new skills and implement them quickly and efficiently.

Coraline Guillevic reminds us that, even in a demanding and constantly evolving field like the web, it's possible to achieve concrete projects as long as we combine motivation and passion.

What are your main projects?

Personal project

To make it easier to go out with her friends, she started developing an application on Glide, with a form and a map. This app consists of listing nearby restaurants thanks to the map, which makes it easier to choose restaurants and, above all, avoid "So, where do we eat?"

Professional project

Coraline has accomplished many projects with her team. Among them, the most complicated to overcome was changing the recruitment process for candidates on the Nocode Marketing Boost (NMB) course. This 15-month training course, in partnership with Winside and available as part of Alegria's training programs, is much more focused on the marketing aspect of combining Nocode with this profession. We therefore had to adapt the process to the candidates' profiles. The final objective: to transform the traditional personality test it included, so as to adapt it perfectly to marketing profiles.

Project summary :

  • The project involved the creation of a bespoke form, designed to be hosted on Typeform and linked to an Airtable database. This allowed candidates to describe their expectations, the tools they used, their objectives, and to submit their CVs, which required a little redaction on their part.

Result:

Simplify the process for candidates, while providing the marketing team with essential information to assess their suitability for the job.

Course of the project :

Coraline worked closely with her colleagues Hugo and Sarah to bring this complex project to fruition. In addition to rethinking the application process, they redesigned the candidate follow-up campaign. Instead of receiving a reminder to complete the personality test, candidates now receive a reminder to complete the form. The mail tunnel has also been adapted to the profile of NMB candidates.

Long-term result:

This optimization has increased the response rate from candidates and ensured a more accurate selection for the marketing department.

What next?

"Working for the first Nocode ecosystem is very rewarding, so I'm very interested in staying with Alegria. I'm going to take advantage of this year's work-study program to improve my skills, and I'll see what opportunities open up for me at the end of this experience. If the opportunities arise, why not become a freelancer and open my own agency in Brittany!"

The final word: if you had to give one piece of advice to the members of the community, what would it be?

"Don't be afraid to try, stay curious!" She also adds, "For those who want to get into it, get into Nocode for the right reasons. You need to have a sincere interest and not hesitate to go for it, especially if you already have an idea to develop!"
