Web Summit 2022 : Alegria.group was there, we tell you!

Alegria.group was lucky enough to be selected among the 50 startups in the Growth program of the Web Summit 2022 in Lisbon. We tell you the highlights of this edition, the most important to date, which marks the return of real meetings in a post Covid and pandemic situation.

An unusual event

‍

The Web Summit: the European tech event not to be missed. It is the event that the New York Times describes as "the high conclave of tech's high priests". The event started with 150 people in 2009, and has grown to over 71,000 attendees in this edition. What a thrill to see a full stadium for the inaugural keynote... and the impressive hour-long line to get in on the first day!

As organizers of the Nocode Summit 2022 at SFPN, we can only hope to follow in their footsteps!

Tech giants present

The companies represented at the Web Summit are mainly the tech giants. All of them were present with booths competing of creativity and size.

The exhibitors on the startup side are divided into 3 categories: Alpha, Beta and Growth - a category in which Alegria.group has been selected among 50 other high-growth startups.

Emotion and iconic speakers

We were marked by the surprise presence of Olena Zelenska, the wife of the Ukrainian president, who marked the opening of the Web Summit. The Ukrainian first lady shared how "Russia has been using technology to bring terror to Ukraine since the beginning of the war". Her speech and presence was met with an emotional standing ovation. We were also marked by the intervention of Carlos Moedas, the mayor of Lisbon, who gave an inspiring and truly enthusiastic speech about innovation. He also took the opportunity of his presence to announce the launch of the LisbonUnicorn Factory.

The Nocode represented by... Alegria!

If Web3, AI and the metaverse were key topics this year, the only Nocode company that was selected among the exhibitors was Alegria.group. We hope to see more publishers present at the next edition, and more conferences on the subject. Alegria will be there in 2023 without any doubt. Indeed, we had the opportunity to meet a lot of potential partners, customers, Nocode enthusiasts and investors thanks to our presence.

What surprised us at the Web Summit? 

The very timid presence of France at first. All the other countries had grandiose pavilions, but France stood out by its discretion. So what happened? 

We were also impressed by the importance of the off-site, the number of various parties after the conferences, and how much the city was entirely focused on the Web Summit.

Finally, the Web Summit was an opportunity for us to see Spot, the Boston Dynamics dog, for the first time with our own eyes, a rather unique, even scary experience.

‍

The Web Summit 2022 was therefore a very successful event, where Alegria.group intends to be present to represent the Nocode for many years to come!
