The 1st quarter of 2021 is over and it's time to set up a regular appointment on the blog to talk about the Nocode market. Billions have already been invested in these tools that can be used without code, and the last few months show that the trend is not about to be reversed.

💨 The Nocode, in 2020

According to Pitchfork, the amount invested in the US in the Nocode sector has more than quadrupled in 5 years, from $114 million in 2014 to $529 million in 2019. Initially, it was the big Silicon Valley venture capital funds that invested: Benchmark, Google's CapitalG, Accel Partners... Now, the movement is spreading and French, German, and English investors are getting into the game.

🦸 Small reminder of the frontrunners before 2021:

In June 2019, Bubble, a visual programming tool to create web and mobile applications tailored to entrepreneurs, raises $6 million.

Last September, one of the sector's emblematic players, the unicorn Airtable, raised a new $185 million (series D), bringing its valuation to $2.5 billion. Airtable is a tool for creating databases, organising and automating all types of tasks.

Then in October, Webflow made its first round of financing at $140 million, followed by two other investments since. Webflow is a tool to create your websites without coding with database management and e-commerce.

That same month, Unqork raised $207 million (series C) for a valuation today estimated at $2 billion. Unqork is a Nocode platform designed for large accounts to create complex applications.

After a definite growth in investments in 2020, the Nocode market has surged in Q1 2021 to reach $1 billion. And the investments do not seem ready to stop.

In the United States, this market's popularity can be explained in part by Silicon Valley's passion for digital solutions that allow people to create a business without technical skills. According to ResearchAndMarkets, the US market could be worth $27 billion by 2022.

In France, the veil is being lifted on Nocode. For several months now, at Alegria.tech, we have been seeing projects accelerate considerably.
