Tim Polfliet, from salesman to Nocode Expert, excels at everything he does!

His background

Tim Polfliet, a Nocode Expert specializing in Bubble who has charted an exceptional course in the world of web development. Even before diving into the world of Nocode, Tim was already familiar with the world of IT.

His digital journey began in 2012, a time marked by pure code technologies such as PHP, Ruby, HTML and CSS. Tim began using these tools to develop websites, mainly for his family and close circle of friends. At the time, juggling these languages was a challenge, but Tim managed it with an ease that earned him recognition from those around him!

With his growing expertise, he was increasingly in demand. It was at this point that the idea of going freelance was born in his mind. For him, it was a radical change of direction: with a rather commercial profile and no apparent link to the IT field, his path gradually took shape towards the latter.

That same year, he worked in a real estate agency which unfortunately went bankrupt. "As I was the last to join the company, I was the first to have to leave." But Tim doesn't see this as bad luck, but rather as a wake-up call. It was following this event that he finally launched himself as a freelancer.

At first, he set his rates quite low "I could charge €1,500 for a 10-page site, I was still happy at the time, it was a month's salary that I could acquire in 10 days!" Thanks to his network and his availability, Tim's business grew and he amassed more and more customers!

By 2015, his business was far more successful than when he started 3 years earlier. It wasn't just his digital skills that got him there. In fact, thanks to his previous professional experience, Tim is incredibly versatile, enabling him to achieve the best possible customer relations.

As well as being a salesman and developer, he is gradually learning about design, using tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator to meet his customers' needs. His customers are delighted, as they no longer have to rely on an external graphic designer!

Although he was using Prestashop and Wordpress, which served as a transition between code and Nocode tools, it was in 2020, 5 years later, that Nocode really entered his life and changed it completely.

Discovering the Nocode

Tim Polfliet's Nocode journey is an exciting adventure that began in 2020, when he first heard about these new tools. Already using Wordpress and Prestashop, Tim had a taste of Nocode tools even before they were in full swing. Intrigued by this alternative approach to traditional development, he dived into the world of YouTube videos, discovering tutorials featuring Bubble, one of today's best-known Nocode platforms!

Fascinated by the speed with which Bubble promised to create applications, Tim set about exploring the platform on his own. However, he realized that getting started with Nocode wasn't that simple! Indeed, the interface and responsive design are not at all the same as those of Wordpress, which makes the task all the more difficult for the Maker. But Tim isn't giving up, and this frustration only strengthens his determination to fully master Bubble.

To take things a step further, he used his CPF to finance a three-week intensive Bootcamp on Bubble. This experience, punctuated by 8 hours of intensive work on the tool, enabled him to significantly improve his skills. Thanks to his determination and his desire to become better, he quickly became one of the best in his class.

Over time, his mastery of Bubble and his ability to create impressive projects attracted the attention of the community of the organization offering this Bootcamp. As a result, the organization's founder noticed him and invited him to become an assistant mentor. Thanks to his outstanding performance, he quickly evolved into a senior mentor, helping to train other Nocode enthusiasts.

After a year as a mentor, Tim felt the ultimate need for change. In March 2023, he decided to leave his position with the sole aim of regaining full freedom in his work!

His first contact with Alegria.academy was in the context of a search for trainers, and this is how he met Thomas Bonnenfant, our Chief Operating Officer. Although this initial contact was unsuccessful, the situation changed when Tim, now back on a freelance basis, contacted Thomas again. This time, he was put in touch with Ophélie, our Administrative and Pedagogical Director. After a presentation of his skills on Bubble, he was invited to become a trainer for Batch 4 at Alegria.academy. His innovative teaching methods and commitment have made this batch a success, and he still maintains a close relationship with the learners!

Over the past eight years, Tim's business has grown exponentially, and he has worked with hundreds of customers, even maintaining and hosting their sites.

At the same time as broadening his range of skills, he has been training intensively in SEO, moving from delegating to an agency to taking full charge of this aspect of his projects.

Tim recalls this period with emotion, remembering the time when Nocode had not yet been developed, comparing the old technologies to much less ergonomic CMS. "When I go back to those tools, I feel like I'm stepping back in time!"

Today, while he has evolved as a Nocode Expert Developer, he continues to support customers who remain loyal to those old technologies, proving the timeless value of his skills and versatility. "I was on my own, so I had to do everything and train for everything!" he concludes with a determination that characterizes his remarkable career path.

Tim is now fully part of our community's best and brightest. Drawing on his experience as a Nocoder, freelancer and trainer within the community, he embodies our Bubble expert par excellence.

What he's proud of

Tim Polfliet takes immense pride in several landmark achievements along the way, each reflecting his growing expertise and passionate commitment to the Nocode field.

"My website, Webinti, is a virtual showcase of my skills, it's the fruit of my constant evolution since 2012!" Initially created on WordPress, he has regularly revised the design over the years, fascinated by the diversity of possibilities offered by this platform.

In 2023, he took a major step forward by migrating his site to Webflow (webinti.com), demonstrating his commitment to remaining at the cutting edge of Nocode technologies. This site is much more than just a business card; it represents a concrete demonstration of Nocode's capabilities. By showcasing an attractive design and solid SEO, Tim has been able to attract customers with it, underlining Nocode's efficiency and versatility in website creation.

Another of Tim's flagship achievements is HubDev.io, a platform designed exclusively on Bubble. HubDev, aimed at freelancers, embodies his commitment to solving real-life problems in the professional world using Nocode solutions.

However, beyond technical achievements, what Tim is particularly proud of is his role as a trainer. He enthusiastically emphasizes his preference for knowledge sharing over development. "If I was still developing on WordPress, I wouldn't have been able to become a trainer, because in my opinion, this market is saturated." He is proud to be able to meet a growing demand in this field, "There's a lot of need, but not a lot of resources or training," he asserts.

Its cheat code

Tim puts everything down to determination and the will to succeed: "People tend to think that Nocode is simple, but think again! He stresses the importance of willpower and autonomy to achieve concrete results: "It's not because you do a training course that you'll become strong on a technology, if I got there it's because I wanted to go further!"

His advice for those who want to get started

"If I had to sum up all my advice in one, it would be: seize the opportunity now!" Tim insists on the right time to dive into Nocode: "You really have to jump on the bandwagon now, it's the right time to do something innovative and booming!"
He also thinks that Nocode is an opportunity for French speakers, because France has been technologically lagging behind on many subjects for a long time, and strangely enough on Nocode, France has one of the biggest communities in the world.

Tim's second piece of advice would be to choose your stack carefully before getting started, by finding out as much as you can beforehand: "It's an individual process that depends on each person's needs and preferences."

You now have all the keys you need to get started in Nocode!
